Taos is New Mexico True
A cocktail being served at a bar

There’s an old saying that the sidewalks roll up at 9:00 in Taos. And while it’s true that some of us turn in a bit early (hey, we have to get up early tomorrow to ski!), that doesn’t mean there’s nothing for the night owl to do in Taos. The artistic reputation of Taos means that performers come from all over the world to play in Taos; you can catch them at intimate concerts in a local bar or gallery, or take in the spectacle at an epic outdoor music festival. On just about any night of the week, there’s someone singing or strumming somewhere in Taos.

Bars and nightlife in Taos can mean a downtown locals’ hangout with pool tables,  a live local band, and an atmospherically sticky floor. Or it can mean hitting the taproom of one of our local breweries or distilleries to catch a game and a snack. You can sip a martini or margarita under the stars on one of Taos’s magnificent restaurant patios or do the two-step with a cowboy (or cowgirl) in a country-style bar.

We may not always party into the wee hours here in Taos, but when we do stay up, we’re sure to have a good time.
