If Fridays weren’t already the best day of the week—they’re now even better!
WHAT: Taos First Friday is a movement to empower the local artistic economy of Taos by creating a once a month opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents and creations. Each table features hand crafted locally made art and crafts by emerging artists. The John Dunn House Shops shares their outdoor pedestrian mall for one evening each month, inviting you to come see what’s happening in the local art scene as well as what’s new in the locally owned small business of the John Dunn House Shops and surrounding businesses and galleries of the historic district of downtown Taos, NM.
Here, you can embrace the lively spirit of Taos! Meandering through Taos First Friday is a perfect way to kick-off the weekend, interact with the community and discover and support local businesses!
WHO: Local businesses in Taos participate in First Friday by staying open and inviting you in, and the list of participating artists in the outdoor pedestrian areas changes from month to month. You can combine it with a pub crawl by visiting the Historic Taos Inn, wandering through the locally owned shops on Bent Street and poping in to La Chiripada Winery, then crossing over to the John Dunn House Shops to check out the participating galleries and shops and the art and music filling the walkways, then continue on to the Historic Taos Plaza participants such as Studio 107B and Taos Mountain Outfitters, and over to The Alley Cantina and their happy hour specials!
