Come face to face with more than a thousand years of Southwestern arts and cultures in the fourteen galleries of the Millicent Rogers Museum. Here you will see a wide range of objects including Native American jewelry, pottery, weavings, baskets as well as Hispanic folk art, blankets and so much more.
The museum was named for fashionista Millicent Rogers who came to Taos following a break-up with movie legend Clark Gable. She collected Native American jewelry and rugs during her time here and when she died, her youngest son created the museum to honor their mother's interests.
Today, the museum is host to a wide range of permanent and changing exhibitions that focus on the museum's mission of sharing and celebrating the arts and cultures of the American Southwest. Today, Visitors come to experience the museum's premier collection of pottery, tools and treasures owned by Maria Martinez, the famed potter of San Ildefonso pueblo.
Also, be sure and see the large collection of Santos--folk art carvings and paintings of religious figures--made in New Mexico and Southern Colorado from the 1700s to the present.

The Millicent Rogers Museum allows personal photos to be taken inside the museum. However, the museum prohibits photography for commercial purposes inside the museum without written consent.
The Museum Store: One-of-a-kind arts and crafts - jewelry, ceramics, textiles, woodwork, graphics and photography - by leading artists and craftspeople from the region, products that take their inspiration from the rich permanent collections, and designs that relate to the local landscapes, environments, and cultures. The Museum Store also contains an extensive bookstore focusing on the arts, architecture, literature and cultures of the Southwest.
