In a Cooking Class you discuss, assign, cook and then sit down and enjoy what we have prepared together and talk some more. Students have fun and walk away having learned recipes, technique and theory.
Cooking Studio Taos have developed an exciting event for Taos called the “Secret Supper’s”. There is limited availability for each supper planned. Chef, Chris Maher and Valerie Maher choose a secret venue for each supper and let participants know the location the day of the event.

Chef Chris Maher is a James Beard recognized chef from 2005. He is also an accomplished Actor and has owned and operated restaurants for many years in Los Angeles before moving full-time to Taos, New Mexico in 1998. He and his wife, Valerie, run Cooking Studio Taos and he also travels with his teaching and private events around the country. Valerie does all of the scheduling, organizing, coordinating behind the scenes - a true family business!
Chris has been teaching cooking classes for many, many years first in Los Angeles and now in Taos. He has cooked for the Dalai Lama and President Clinton, among others. He also travels and teaches in private homes, most recently in San Luis Obispo and Beverly Hills, Dallas and Santa Fe last month. Each year we have a TEXAS culinary tour where Chris teaches in individuals' homes as well as corporate team building. In addition, Chris consults for restaurants and culinary projects and speaking engagements.
