Date: Friday, October 31, 2025 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM The Town of Taos Events is proud to present the 2025 Taos Halloween Community Event, a spectacular magical community celebration happening on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in the heart of Historic Downtown Taos. Hosted in collaboration with Taos Plaza Merchants, Teresina Lane Merchants, Juan Largo Lane Merchants, John Dunn Shops, Bent Street Merchants, Taos Amateur Radio Club, Taos County, Taos High School Cheer, Taos Milagro Rotary Club, and True Kids 1, this free, family-friendly event invites children of all ages and their families to enjoy a safe and spirited Halloween experience. Festivities will span the entire historic district — including Taos Plaza, Teresina Lane, Juan Largo Lane, John Dunn Shops, and Bent Street — where merchants will be handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. Meanwhile, on Taos Plaza and Bent Street, local businesses, organizations, and church groups will host vibrant Trunk-or-Treat and carnival-style games complete with decorated trunks and booths offering fun activities and plenty of sweet treats. To kick off the fun, the first 1,500 children will receive free Halloween bags filled with goodies. New Mex Records will be spinning festive dance mixes from the Taos Plaza Gazebo setting the tone for a high-energy afternoon of music and celebration. Children can also stop by the John Dunn Pathway for free face painting by Tatyana, sponsored by the John Dunn Shops. A highlight of the event is the return of the popular Costume Contest, open to children (up to 12 years old), teens, families, and even pets. No registration is necessary — judges wearing “Costume Judge” sashes will roam Taos Plaza between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM, awarding prizes to the most creative and spirited costumes they see.
