Affectionately termed by locals as the "Living Room of Taos".
The Historical Taos Inn opened its doors in 1936 and welcomed famous guests such as D.H Lawrence and Great Garbo. Many celebrities including Robert Redford have been spotted sipping Margaritas in the bar.
Originally the Taos Inn consisted of several Adobe Houses which dated back to the 1800's. The homes surrounded a small plaza area with a well in the center. Today, when you walk into the Taos Inn you will see the plaza area and well surrounded by vertical Vigas which rise two and a half stories high. The surrounding Mezzanine floor above the plaza houses guest rooms and viewing areas for the nightly entertainment.
The Adobe Bar is tucked away at the South of the lobby. Guests can sit at the bar or in the small dining area alongside the bar. Additional seating is in the lobby and plaza area surrounding the well. The bar is renowned for their large selection of Margaritas. In summers guests can dine outside in the inviting garden patio which faces the street and Historical District of Taos.
