The air is filled with the fragrance of lilacs in Taos as the community celebrates its first annual Lilac Festival, May 17 to 19. Other community events in May include the Santa Cruz Feast Day dances at Taos Pueblo. On Mother’s Day weekend, a free concert and a whitewater festival top the list of events. Over Memorial Day weekend, visitors from across the nation head to the Enchanted Circle for the annual motorcycle rally in Red River and Vietnam Memorial ceremonies in Angel Fire.
