July 2014 IN TAOS
While the nation is experience a heat wave, it’s cool in the mountains around Taos. Consider a chairlift ride to spectacular mountain top views at one of our four ski resorts. Fishing – fly fishing, easy pond-side fishing for the kids, or lake angling – is another way to stay cool. And Rio Grande river floats are offered by a number of experienced rafting companies.
Community events in July are topped by parades and a professional fireworks extravaganza on July Fourth. Don’t miss Taos Pueblo Pow Pow (July 11 – 13) and Fiestas de Taos (July 18 – 20). Taos’s third annual high altitude Gran Fondo 110-mile cycling race happens on July 5.
