The Taos Art Museum is housed in the original home and studio of Russian-born artist, Nicolai Fechin. It features many of his hand-carved furnishings and art, as well as works by more than 50 Taos artists – including paintings by all of the Taos Founders.

Treasure Hunt and Docent Tours
Young visitors are invited to visit the House lobby to pick up the Treasure Hunt map, absolutely free, follow the clues through the Garden and Studio, and claim their reward at the end in the Gift Shop. Their adventure will highlight details of the grounds and Studio that tell their own stories about life and art in Taos.
About the Museum Shop: Taos Art Museum Gift Shop offers books about the lives and work of the Taos Society of Artists, the Taos Modernists, and Nicolai Fechin. Quality art reproductions of Fechin’s paintings are available. Handcrafted Russian items include fine art lacquer boxes, carved Santa and angel figures, embroidered fabrics, icons and nesting Matryoshka dolls. Work by local and New Mexico artists fill the gift shop with hand made jewelry, carved Santos, micaceous clay pottery, Navajo weavings, wood toys, fabrics and folk art.
