You've spent some time in Taos, so you've likely experienced Taosmosis. Most people who visit Taos comment on how authentic it is and how transformative their trip was. Share your Taosmosis, and you could win $1,000. This first of four quarterly, seasonal contests runs until February 28, 2012. Just submit your statement about your Taosmosis (up to 300 words) and a photo(s) or video that depicts it. The first 25 entrants each season will receive a $25 gas card. The winning entrant per season will win a $1,000 prize. That's four chances to win throughout 2012.
Judging Criteria:
1) Photo or Video Quality/Clarity, with Description
2) Uniqueness of Submission
3) Compelling Message of Why/How Taos is Transformative for Visitors
4) Inclusion of People in Photo/Video "Showing Taosmosis" (Extra points for people!)

The rules: By submitting an entry, writers grant permission that their piece and a photo of them may be published in news releases, on www.taos.org and utilized by other media. They also agree that their essay and images may be used in promotional advertising by The Town of Taos and its advertising agency. Photos and videos must show people experiencing Taos. The rules for the photo contest are: • Limit is five photos per individual or one video. • Photos may be black and white or color. • No pornography. • Printed copies of photos will not be accepted. • Photos must be original and must not have appeared in another publication, print or online. • Members of The Town of Taos staff will judge the entries. Decision by the judges is final. • Entries must include: the photo’s or video's title; the photographer's or videographer's name, address and phone number. Anonymous entries and pseudonyms will not be accepted. • By submitting an entry, photographers/videographers grant permission that their piece and photo may be published. They also agree that their photo/video may be used in promotional advertising by Town of Taos.
